  • Himmelfarb Access: An Introduction for Students
    Learn how to access the library's electronic databases, textbooks and journal articles using two forms of off-campus access: VPN GWireless and Alladin.

Clinical Images & Resources

  • PDA Medical Software and Instructions
    List of PDA software that is either free-of-charge or provided by the Himmelfarb Library to GWUMC students and faculty. Includes drug information programs; disease information and textbooks; calculators and other reference tools; and downloadable clinical guidelines.
  • Medicine and Health Sciences Portal
    Helpful tools and resources for medical and health science students. Includes a collection of patient care resources; information on conducting research and publishing; and links to educational software programs and medical image resources.

  • Microsoft Excel 2003 (pdf 352K)
    Introduction to Excel that includes formatting text, numbers, and cells; using shortcuts such as autofill, autosum and other formulas, and sorting data; creating charts; and printing from your spreadsheet.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 Manual (pdf 744K)
    Detailed instructions for using PowerPoint. Includes creating and formatting a presentation with various types of slide layouts; editing your presentation; working with images; creating slide transitions; and printing handouts and speaker notes.
